Streamlining Acquisition
Executive Summary
HHS currently acquires commodities using a variety of expensive, inefficient, and redundant methods. HHS Program Support Center (PSC) is developing an end-to-end process to purchase commodities through an online marketplace available to employees across HHS. By applying proven supply chain and category management practices, along with state of the art technology, HHS will reduce procurement actions, lower costs per unit, improve consumer satisfaction, and enhance business efficiency. Beyond commodities, the marketplace is scalable to external customers and services purchased government-wide.
