The ASA Project Management Skills Bank
Executive Summary
This project proposes to create a tool to fill the project management skill gap in divisions within the Assistant Secretary for Administration (ASA) office. Project managers need a clear format and guidelines on the fundamentals of project management. Division-wide processes could be established for things like risk assessments, timelines, and project charters, with enough flexibility to allow for individual division, and project requirements and specifications.
A rough prototype might be a web platform that provides a high level project management process overview with links to tools and templates aligned with each phase. The platform would include guiding questions to help the project manager determine what templates and tools best fit their project.
If this works, project managers in the ASA office would have a clearer method for planning, implementing, and completing projects; project managers would have confidence and clarity on the method they use to initiate and execute projects.
