Public Health Reports

Published since 1878, Public Health Reports (PHR) is the official journal of the U.S. Surgeon General and the U.S. Public Health Service. Currently, PHR is published by SAGE Publishing Inc. exit disclaimer icon, through an agreement with the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) exit disclaimer icon.

This peer-reviewed public health journal publishes articles every other month on public health practice, research, and writing. PHR also publishes "Surgeon General's Perspectives", which discuss important national public health issues.
