Nondiscriminatory Quality Healthcare Services

Some groups of people have been found to have barriers to health care service access:

  • Certain racial and ethnic groups
  • Limited English proficient persons
  • People with disabilities
  • The elderly

To ensure nondiscrimination and increase the number of people who have access to quality health care services, the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) investigates HHS-funded programs and services. This is to ensure they comply with applicable federal civil rights laws.
