Julia Adler-Milstein, Ph.D., is director of the Center for Clinical Informatics and Improvement Research and an associate professor in the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. She is an internationally-recognized expert on policy and management issues related to the use of IT in healthcare delivery.  Her research focuses on policy and management issues related to the use of IT in health care delivery. Dr. Adler-Milstein’s expertise is in health information exchange and she has conducted four national surveys of health information organizations. She also studies the productivity and efficiency of electronic health records. Dr. Adler-Milstein earned her Ph.D. in Health Policy from the T. H. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University. Prior to graduate school, she worked at the Center for IT Leadership at Partners Healthcare in Boston and in the Health and Life Sciences Division of Accenture.
