Category Collaboratives

The BUYSMARTER Category Collaborative framework is a unique approach to bringing agencies together with a focused objective around enterprise procurement via the federal category management model. Category Collaboratives are structured around each of the 10 government-wide spend categories.

The Category Collaboratives are composed of subject matter experts and acquisition professionals that lead an enterprise procurement for a specific category, and the goods and services contained within it. Additionally, OPDIVs and STAFFDIVs are represented and their robust requirements are captured for all combined acquisition pursuits. In this way, both mission and acquisition expertise are combined to reach the best outcome for the Department, and for individual agencies.
