Subcommittees

The HHS Advisory Committee on Blood and Tissue Safety and Availability established the Subcommittee on Blood System Sustainability to assist with the RAND study: “Towards a Sustainable Blood Supply in the United States: An Analysis of the Current System and Alternatives for the Future.” (Further information about this study can be found on our Programs and Projects Webpage.) This subcommittee, currently chaired by Dr. Jay Menitove, consists of various public sector stakeholders with expertise in the blood supply, health care delivery systems, and health care economics.
