Violence Reports and Publications

Youth violence is a problem that affects our entire nation—it is not just a problem of the inner cities, isolated rural regions, or any single segment of our society. And no threat can be more devastating than child maltreatment.

The Surgeon General's report on youth violence is an authoritative source of information from scholars, scientists, analysts, and policy makers on the magnitude, causes, and prevention of youth violence. The Office of the Surgeon General has also raised the visibility of efforts to prevent child maltreatment.
