Proposed National Hepatitis C Elimination Program in the United States*. The Biden-Harris Administration has put forward a bold 5-year program to put the nation on course to eliminate hepatitis C in the United States. This program aims to significantly expand screening, testing, treatment, prevention, and monitoring of hepatitis C infections in the United States, with a specific focus on populations at the greatest risk for infection. This fact sheet covers high-level solutions to increase hepatitis C awareness, testing, treatment, and follow-up to prevent hundreds of thousands of illnesses, tens of thousands of serious complications, and many thousands of lives over the next decade – at minimal net cost.
