Don’t forget, OHRP offers a variety of free informational materials designed for educating the lay public about research and research participation. These materials are available in Spanish too!

  • Print, display, and distribute our “Learn About Participation” brochure/poster for use at your institution – this brochure is available in a variety of different formats that can suit your needs
  • Watch and share our “Voices of Participants” videos – these videos feature first-hand accounts of research participation
  • Print and distribute our “Educational Tool for Community Engagement” – this checklist provides a progressive, step-by-step way for lay community members to understand the complexities of research participation and oversight. It will help institutions with their effort in increasing diversity and inclusivity in research participation.

Meeting of the Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections (SACHRP), October 19-20

SACHRP will meet virtually October 19th and 20th to discuss the FDA’s recently released NPRMs on Protection of Human Subjects and IRBs, and IRBs and Cooperative Research. In addition and as time allows, SACHRP will review a possible revision to the recently approved SACHRP recommendation on IRB considerations for human subjects research involving artificial intelligence, and discuss use of social media by human research participants.
