Office of Grants Responsibilities

The Office of Grants (OG) provides federal financial assistance management directions in the areas of:

  • Grant policy;
  • Grants oversight and evaluation;
  • Grants systems management and coordination;
  • Grants training and development; and,
  • Grants streamlining.

The OG provides Federal financial assistance management direction in the following areas: Grants policy; Grants oversight and evaluation; Grants systems management and coordination; Grants training and development; and, Grants streamlining. The office provides Department wide leadership in these areas through policy development, oversight, shared service operations and training. OG focuses efforts on Departmental and government-wide management, operations, and analysis for Grants.gov, the grants management Line of Business, other Federal-wide mandates, and HHS-led initiatives. OG represents the Department when communicating with Office of Management and Budget (OMB), General Services Administration (GSA), and other Federal agencies about, discretionary, nondiscretionary policy and national operational shared services. The Office of Grants does not typically award or administer individual Federal financial assistance.
