J. Christopher Canning

J. Christopher “Chris” Canning joins HHS after having served as the Chief of Staff at the Office of Personnel Management for the first five months of the Biden-Harris administration, acting as the principal advisor to the Director responsible for day-to-day management of the agency's workforce, operations and external affairs. From 2013 to 2015, he served as a Senior Advisor to the Director of OPM and, more recently, as an Executive Vice President in the public affairs division of DKC Public Relations. Chris previously held senior roles at the Democratic National Committee and on President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign. A graduate of Georgetown University, he resides in Bethesda, MD with his wife and three sons.
