Virginia R. Fajt, DVM, PhD, DACVCP; Clinical Professor, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Texas A&M University; College Station, TX

Dr. Virginia Fajt received her BA from Kalamazoo College and DVM from Auburn University. She then did a food animal internship and served as a clinical instructor at Kansas State University, followed by a PhD in Physiology at Iowa State University. She became a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology in 2004. She joined the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology at Texas A&M University in 2005, where she is now a Clinical Professor.

Dr. Fajt has chaired the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges/ Association of Public and Land Grant Universities Antimicrobial Resistance Core Competencies Working Group and is currently collaborating on developing problem-based learning modules on antimicrobial resistance with Texas A&M and Cornell University. Among other honors, she was one of the 10 inaugural recipients of the Provost Academic Professional Track Faculty Teaching Excellence Award at Texas A&M University and was a recipient of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners Award of Excellence in recognition of outstanding performance and contribution to veterinary medicine.
