NVAC Public Member: John Dunn, MD, MPH

NVAC Public Member | Term: 2/8/2020 – 2/7/2023

John Dunn is medical director of preventive care, clinical lead for immunization population management, and a board-certified and practicing pediatrician at Kaiser Permanente Washington. He is responsible for leading updates to Kaiser's prevention clinical guidelines, driving performance in prevention quality metrics, implementing local, state, and national immunization recommendations, and increasing immunization rates among Kaiser Permanente Washington members, in addition to caring for his patients. 
 
Dunn conducts research through Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute and Kaiser Permanente Research Affiliates Evidence-Based Practice Center, holds a clinical instructor role in the Family Medicine Residency Programs at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and serves on several government and professional committees, including the Washington State Department of Health’s Vaccine Advisory Committee, the Washington Vaccine Association Vaccine Committee, and VAX Northwest Oversight Committee. 
 
He was recently recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as the 2016 Childhood Immunization Champion for the state of Washington in recognition of his dedication to improving childhood immunization rates. 
 
Dunn has a Doctor of Medicine degree from Northwestern University and a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University School of Public Health. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of Chicago.
