John King

Wellness and Health Promotion Services Director

John King serves as the Director of Wellness and Health Promotion Services at Federal Occupational Health, a component of the Program Support Center (PSC) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In this position, he oversees wellness and health promotion services provided to the federal government.

Prior to joining PSC, King held leadership roles in public media, nonprofit, and government organizations. Most recently, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Koda Associates, a consulting practice serving non-profit, government, and public media clients. King also served as the President and CEO of Vermont Public Television, in addition to President and CEO of the Public Television Association of Quebec, which was based in Montreal, Canada.

With nearly three decades of experience in public broadcasting leadership, he has chaired the National Educational Telecommunications Association, the Organization of State Broadcasting Executives, and the Public Broadcasting Management Association. He also holds advisory positions for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. As a member of the Public Broadcast Service (PBS) Board of Directors, King brought his decades of experience to a number of committees on finance and corporate support, dues review, and was a national leader in station services, efficiencies, shared services, and policy review. In 2011, King was inducted into the Vermont Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

A native of Vermont, King is active in community and business initiatives throughout New England. He is a member of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Assembly of Overseers and serves on the Board of the McGill University International Executive Management Institute.

King holds an associate’s degree in business administration from Champlain College, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Johnson State College, and a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University.
