Judy Stecker is the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Strategy at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). She previously served as Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at HHS, a position to which she was appointed in March 2018.
Prior to HHS, Mrs. Stecker served as executive director of media relations and strategic marketing at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), where she managed the media relations, design services, video production, and editorial services departments and was responsible for AEI’s media and marketing strategies across all its research areas. Before she joined AEI, Mrs. Stecker served as a senior associate on the communications staff for the Heritage Foundation and as director of communications for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.
Born and raised in upstate New York, Mrs. Stecker received a B.A. from Syracuse University and an M.A. in communication, culture, and technology from Georgetown University.
