Laurie Konsella, MPA

Laurie Konsella has been the acting Regional Health Administrator for the U.S.  Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, Region VIII (ND, SD, WY, MT, CO, UT) since April 2017.  Her responsibilities include collaborating and coordinating across federal agencies, and with state, tribal and local agencies, advocacy groups, academia, and community-based organizations on a broad array of public health issues.  Ms. Konsella became the Deputy Regional Health Administrator in 2008 and prior to that was the Regional Women’s Health Coordinator (RWHC) for the HHS/OASH/Office on Women’s Health, Region VIII. Prior to her ten years as the RWHC, Ms. Konsella worked for the Health Care Financing Administration (now called the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) in the areas of Maternal and Child Health and Medicaid Managed Care.  She received her M.P.A. from the University of North Dakota with an emphasis in Health and Human Services in 1991.
