The President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition (President’s Council) and the National Foundation on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition (National Foundation) today announced #0to60, a national public awareness campaign that will inspire  Americans to accelerate their journey to leading a healthy, active lifestyle.  In celebration of its 60th Anniversary, #0to60 commemorates the President’s Council’s rich history and aspires to help Americans lead healthier lives by encouraging the country to go from zero to sixty, every day.

As a leader in health and fitness, the President’s Council, with support from the National Foundation, will use the campaign to partner with organizations with a goal to drive awareness, deepen engagement, and increase support for more physical activity, sports participation, and good nutrition across the country.

“The 60th Anniversary of the President’s Council is an important opportunity to highlight and reflect on our accomplishments that have helped Americans to achieve healthy, active lives,” said Shellie Pfohl, executive director of the President’s Council. “We look forward to working with our partners through #0to60 to continue to inspire individuals and families to prioritize health by eating healthy and participating in regular physical activity and sports.”

In celebration of National Physical Fitness & Sports Month, the President’s Council launched the #0to60 campaign during its annual meeting in Washington, DC. The campaign was previewed yesterday with key national stakeholders during an evening reception celebrating the 60th Anniversary, hosted by the National Foundation. The reception brought together current and former members of the President’s Council and leaders in the health and fitness sectors.

“We are proud to support the President’s Council’s 60th Anniversary by announcing our collective vision for the future,” said Chris Watts, executive director of the National Foundation. “#0to60 is a national effort to scale our mission of helping all Americans on their journey to achieving a healthy lifestyle. The Foundation is excited to use this campaign to engage partners in the important priorities of the President’s Council for the next 60 years.”

The #0to60 campaign will engage key partners to illustrate ways to make fitness fun and accessible for all Americans. Partners will activate through digital and social integration, national and grassroots events, and media engagement. The #0to60 campaign website launched this morning to provide updates about the campaign activities through May 2017. For more information about #0to60, visit www.0to60fitness.org.
