Coordinating and Collaborating Across TPP Programs

Exploring how to improve the Teen Pregnancy Prevention grantee experience across three federal Agencies (CDC, OASH, and ACF).

Executive Summary

Funding for Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) comes from three HHS Agencies: The Administration for Children & Families (ACF), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH). HHS provides TPP funding to approximately 300 different organizations across the U.S.

This project team, which includes representation from the three HHS Agencies list above, has spoken with many different end-users. So far, the team has heard (1) that it is hard for grantees to connect, communicate, and collaborate and (2) that reporting is not streamlined.

To identify possible solutions, this project team is exploring the following questions:

  • How might we re-image how federal agencies work with and support grantees?
  • How might we create a TPP grantee-centered reporting experience?
  • How might we best incorporate grantee feedback into TPP operations?
  • How might we foster connections among our grantee projects?

What’s the projected impact? We don’t know (yet!) but with nearly 300 grantees we are excited to see what the outcome will be.
