Kyle Snyder was appointed to serve as a member of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition. Snyder is the youngest Olympic and World Champion in USA Wrestling history. Snyder is also the youngest wrestler ever to win the NCAA, World, and Olympic championships while still competing as a college athlete. Snyder was a three-time NCAA Champion at Ohio State University and won Academic All-American honors during each of the four years he competed for the Buckeyes. Snyder was twice named the Ohio State Male Athlete of the Year and in 2018, received the Big Ten Medal of Honor as the top student-athlete of the graduating class. In 2017, the United State Olympic Committee named Snyder the Male Olympic Athlete of the year and in 2018, Snyder received the prestigious Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Sullivan Award as the most outstanding amateur athlete in the United States.
Snyder grew up in Maryland and amassed a 179-0 record in his first three years of high school, but decided to forgo his senior year of high school competition and instead competed internationally as a resident athlete at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado. Snyder was a Sports Industry major at Ohio State University and currently resides in Columbus, Ohio, as a resident athlete of the Ohio Regional Training Center.
