Preterm Birth Reports And Publications

Preterm birth remains one of the most complicated and difficult research and public health issues in obstetrics and pediatrics. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, in 2016 nearly 10% of all babies born in the United States were born preterm, and this rate continues to rise.
 
Learn how the Office of the Surgeon General is increasing awareness of the causes of, risk factors for, and treatment of preterm labor and delivery, and establishing an agenda for both the public and private sectors to mitigate this public health problem.
