An exciting agenda awaits you at our Research Community Forum (RCF) “Embracing Diversity and Innovation in Research” this Spring!
On August 5, 2020, the New York Times published the article, The COVID Drug Wars that Pitted Doctor vs. Doctor, which raised some interesting but hard questions about how frontline physicians could best do their job and manage their patients’ expectations for reliable and effective treatment, and the lack thereof, versus researchers’ eagerness to protect any opportunities to identify evidence-based treatments through rigorous research. Over a year and a half later, we will be revisiting this discussion with a live panel involving those interviewed for the article and Dr. David Fajgenbaum, the author of Chasing My Cure. OHRP’s Director Dr. Jerry Menikoff will moderate. Do not miss this amazing opportunity to participate in a thought-provoking discussion with our panelists with first-hand experiences on this important matter!

OHRP’s new Informational Resource Flyer includes a QR code allowing anyone with a smart phone access to a free online library of trusted resources about research and research participation. Print, display, and distribute this flyer at your centers for the benefit of prospective research participants!
Find the flyer here together with other informational materials (in English and Spanish) that you may wish to print and provide for potential research participants! These resources are free and you do not need permission to distribute them.
New and improved International Compilation of Human Research Standards
OHRP has updated its International Compilation of Human Research Standards document! This document contains over 1,000 standards from 131 countries and many international organizations. Be sure to check it out!

OHRP launched two interactive training programs on considerations for reviewing and designing research involving human participants.
OHRP created these programs to enable investigators and IRB reviewers to be cognizant of the importance of diversity, inclusion, and risk minimization in research participation.
